The Green Man by Michael Bedard Review

The Green Man by Michael Bedard

Are poets born crazy or do the words drive them mad? This is something that Ophelia plans to find out when she spends the summer with aunt Emily, who just happens to be a poet and owner of a bookstore called, The Green Man. Why would a young girl be so curious about the madness of poets? Because, she's been penning a few words of her own. Oh, and by the way, never call her Ophelia, the name's O.

The Green Man is unlike any book I have ever read before. Though it was written for young adults, it was wonderful for adult readers as well. I love the relationship that formed between O and Emily as they became closer and tried to take care of one another. It was a wonderfully written book in which characters that felt real experienced something magical.

I highly recommend The Green Man by Michael Bedard to anyone that enjoys fantasy and is looking for something different. I do need to point out that this is the second book in a series, something which I didn't know when I read the book. I don't think it's necessary to read the first book to enjoy this book, but I assume it would also be just as enjoyable. I give The Green Man by Michael Bedard 5 out 5 stars.

Reviewer was provided a copy of the book through NetGalley.
