My first introduction to the young adult genre was the Twilight series. While there was much to love about the series (it is my favorite series after all), the series also had its flaws. One of the biggest was how unbelievable the character Bella Swan proved to be. Still, it's my favorite series and sparked a love for the young adult genre.

When I had a chance to download New England Witch Chronicles by Chelsea Bellingeri during a free promo, I jumped at the chance. Currently, I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to read it. The book was absolutely fabulous and one of the best books I've read all year.

The main character, Alexandria Ramsey, is not only believable, but likeable (something else Bella Swan failed at). Her potential suitors are polar opposites of each other. Peter, her lifelong best friend, is sweet, caring, laid back, and funny, while James is a troublemaker who rubs Alex the wrong way. As far as book one goes, there certainly isn't a likelihood of fans being on Team James - everyone is on Team Peter and with good reason.

New England Witch Chronicles by Chelsea Bellingeri is a must for anyone that loves young adult fiction and paranormal romance. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
