The Matchmaker's Curse is book two in the Matchmaker series of lighthearted paranormal romance…

Grant Barclay came to Charleston, South Carolina for a consultation with the Matchmaker, hoping she'd help him identify the magic that will preserve and protect his werewolf pack's territory. What he got was a cursed mark from the Matchmaker and no idea where to find his soulmate.

An English professor, Maeve King believes in the power of fairy tales but prefers a day to day life without the drama. When her best friend becomes a legendary Matchmaker, helping mythical beings find their soulmates, it seems those tales of magic are coming to life all around her... and quite possibly within her.

Excerpt:

There was a vibe here in Charleston that crawled under Grant's skin and aggravated the cursed mark the wretched Matchmaker had slapped on him a few weeks ago. Valentine's Day. And another full moon on the horizon.

He'd passed January's moon by slumming out in Hell Hole Swamp, by necessity rather than preference. After letting a couple of wood elves rough him up, he could hardly recuperate in his suite at the Francis Marion hotel.

While the hotel sounded ideal, it was far from safe for him or the general population. He healed faster in wolf form and needed to shift. On top of that, he had no intention of making it easy if the elves rescinded their tentative truce and set the local law enforcement on him.

A werewolf who wanted to stay alive – and he reminded himself he needed to stay alive – couldn't risk the urge to hunt an unsuspecting public. Watching the campus full of people, he felt the instinctive kick of dark anticipation at the thought of a blooding spree, but that wasn't his goal.

Having the authorities cluttering up the streets searching for a brutal attacker – or worse if he couldn't control his darker urges – wasn't going to make his task easier. He was on a mission to save his pack, if he could just find the Matchmaker and encourage her cooperation.
