I must say that I have mixed feelings about this book. Personally, I didn't learn anything new from this book, but I feel that's because I was raised in a single-family home and grew up poor. I have also made a living telling people how to save money for a number of years. With that said, I can definitely see how this book would be useful to those that have never had money issues in the past.
If you grew up never having to want for anything and then went on to a good university and well-paying career, only to have everything taken away from you due to the bad economy, you need this book. There are a number of useful tips for those that know nothing about cutting expenses.
However, this means that the book may not be useful if you having been finding new ways to cut your expenses for several years. But, that doesn't make this book useless. If you know a college student or someone who is down on their luck, this would make a great gift.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. It offers great advice to those that aren't familiar with money saving tips, but those that are frugal won't find the book very useful.
