Hospice nurse Wilma Jones gave up on having an extraordinary life long ago. A single mother with little to her name but debt and disappointment, she at first overlooks the mysterious new patient who arrives at Evergreen Hospice. Mr. Was makes all sorts of fantastic claims, telling her tales of the days he spent traveling the world, or slaying dragons, or falling in love with a prostitute.

Eventually, the stories told by Was draw Wilma in - some seem like fairy tales, others like memories. Soon they become the highlight of her day, the only thing keeping her going as the rest of her life falls apart. Exploring the nature of stories and our very selves, Was will make you question all that is, and think anew about all that will be.

Title: Cheer Up, Woman! Be Proud

Price: $2.99 or FREE for Prime Members

Do you spend more time than you'd like complaining about some facet of your life? When's the last time you were honestly happy? If you're the type that has lost the happiness in your life, Cheer Up, Woman! Be Proud! can change the way you think.

This book provides a strong message for women. It's one that women of all ages will find useful in changing the way they think about and approach life. It reminds women that no one controls their happiness, but themselves. There's no denying that this book can change the way you think. The only qualm I have about this book is that it feels as if it were translated from another language, which makes the text feel a bit choppy. Regardless it was a good read and something that many women will find strength in.

A Paranormal Romance/Fantasy Novel

Six years ago, when Aubrey McCory was twenty-eight years old, her fairytale dream of living happily-ever-after ended the day her husband died. Emotionally damaged with an unhealed heart, she sometimes fantasizes about what it would be like to see her husband one last time, like in her favorite movie “Ghost” when Sam said his final goodbye to Molly. Then five days before the seventh anniversary of his death, a glitch in the universe gives Aubrey the psychic ability to hear what people are thinking. And by all accounts, she seems to also have made a psychic connection with the dearly departed – namely her deceased husband.

As fate would have it, she also meets hunky Gavin Donnelly – whom she feels might be the next Mr. Right – and her life becomes topsy-turvy.

Her hippy parents, the Abbie and Anita Hoffman of suburbia, have Aubrey questioning her sanity after they leak a secret that Aunt Millie threw herself off the Brooklyn Bridge after hearing voices. Then there’s the fiasco of Aubrey trying to hold a connection with the dead when her new psychic ability doesn’t come with an instruction manual or tech support. And she can’t lean on her best friend, former debutante Laura Wentworth, who inhabits the heady spheres of society, without looking like a kook.

Aubrey's life was complicated enough before photos rattled off bookshelves and the sound of wind chimes played in her head. Soon she’s juggling a demanding career, a six-year-old son, a freaky spiritualist, and the belief that her husband’s spirit is trying to tell her something of great importance. All while she tries to reclaim her heart and not lose the next love of her life.

MEET SOME OF THE CHARACTERS!

Aubrey McCory
People tell Aubrey she looks like a young Elizabeth Taylor. The only resemblance she sees is that she’s had as much bad luck with keeping a boyfriend as Liz had with keeping a husband. And her idiosyncrasy with organization, like products in her cupboard lined up like tin soldiers with labels faced forward and having days-of-the-week underwear is exceeding the breaking point. Yet, she manages to keep it all together as a prominent Providence lawyer, mother to a six-year-old son, and survivor of widowhood. Is it guilt over her husband’s tragic death six years before that brings him back to her? Albeit, in a ghostly form.

Matt McCory
Even in death, his love for Aubrey has no boundaries. But will he be able to really return to her?

Laura Wentworth
Best friends with Aubrey, Laura’s beauty, both face and figure, has caused more whiplashes in the City of Providence than most car accidents have. The same age as Aubrey, she’s also a lawyer, and they work at the same law firm. Although she wants Aubrey to find love, she has her own issues. Having a hefty trust fund and dating only the wealthiest, most eligible bachelors in Providence, doesn’t seem to be getting her anywhere. Will her latest choice of suitors turn out to be the one—or a scoundrel?

Gavin Donnelly
Thirty-two and ridiculously tall, dark, and handsome, he’s a Project Manager for J&J Crew, a construction company located in the same building where Aubrey works. Is it just déjà vu when the first time Gavin sees her, he swears he knows her from someplace? And what’s up with Aubrey having a dream about him before she even meets him? And why does she feel a close connection upon their first meeting? The only thing Gavin is sure of is that he has to win Aubrey’s heart.

Mr. & Mrs. Becker
Known as the Abbie and Anita Hoffman of suburbia, Aubrey’s parents, hippies from the '70s look as if they are stuck in a time warp. They make Aubrey wonder how sane she really is after growing up with parents who invited half-naked people to backyard bonfires, grew alfalfa sprouts in the bathtub, and constantly quoted Zen Buddhism. Will their expertise on parallel universes help Aubrey with the ghost of Matt?

The Red Fox: A Romance by Kim Hunter Review

Title: The Red Fox: A Romance
Author: Kim Hunter
Genre: Romance
Pages: 79
Rating: 4 out 5 stars

Running is the safe answer, but that doesn't mean it's the right answer. Jay has ran from school to school, trying to avoid Him. He knows that his new school will have another Him, they all do, but he plans to avoid Him at all costs. Too bad his plan doesn't work. When he runs into the girl's locker room and spots, The Red Fox, his life at the new school will never be the same.

The Red Fox has a few secrets of her own. Known as the town slut, Leaf has slept with her fair share of men, though not as many as everyone claims. Can she learn to stop living the role that society has placed her in? Maybe the new boy can help her see that she's more than just a pretty face.

Jay and Leaf form a strong relationship based on helping each other rise above the things that are holding them back and in the process find true love.

I really enjoyed this book, while it was a bit strong for YA readers, I still feel it offers a great message to readers of the high school age. It teaches an important lesson of rising above what we think we have to be and being who we want to be.

Hope Springs (2012)

Title: Hope Springs
Rated: PG-13
Run Time: 1 hour 40 minutes
Price: $3.99 to Rent, $12.99 to Buy
Overall Rating: 3 and 1/2 stars
My Rating: 5 stars

It's been a long time since I've featured a movie for my fellow Kindle Fire uses. I just finished watching Hope Springs and had to share. It's one of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen. While it's not the comedy the previews made it out to be, it's a touching, funny movie that takes a closer look at what most couples face when they've been together for a long time.

I cried several times throughout the movie. Meryl Streep does such a great job and creates a character that is believable and easy for women to connect with. Tommy Lee Jones also does a wonderful job at playing the typical guy that doesn't want to face the fact that the couple has problems. The two come together to create movie magic.

I highly recommend this movie to any woman that loves a good romance/drama/comedy. This is a movie I'll watch again and again.

Easy Money by Liz Weston Review

Title: Easy Money
Author: Liz Weston
Pages: 226
Price: $9.89
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

We all know the importance of getting our finances together and using our money in the best ways possible. Unfortunately, many of us are overwhelmed. As someone who is in debt and works from home, I thought that it would be impossible to save for retirement or other important purchases. In Easy Money: How to Simplify Your Finances and Get What You Want Out of Life, Liz Weston gives you easy to tackle to-do lists so that you can start using your money to its fullest.

In Easy Money, you'll learn not only the advantages of online banking, but Weston also explains the best ways to pay your bills. What I really loved about the book though was the spending plans that are aimed at making it easier to control your spending. However, the fact that the book is written in an easy-to-understand language is also a plus.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to gain control of their finances. It doesn't matter if you're knee-deep in debt or are confused about the different types of retirement plans, Easy Money is a book that almost anyone will find useful. I give it 5 out of 5 stars and will probably read the book again in the future.

Interest Rate Solution by Bronson Brice Book Trailer

Interest Rate Solution by Bronson Brice
$9.95

Saving BIG money on your BIGGEST expense is a lot closer than you think. I’m talking TENS of THOUSANDS of dollars…..or even more.

From this simple little 32 page e-book, you will be better equipped to,
• arm yourself with a crucial detail for your home purchase or refinance,
• rearrange your savings into more productive areas of your household budget,
• find a highly accurate and critical cue, from the news, that will tell you what to expect from interest rates for years to come,
• guide your lender toward the path that’s best for YOU, not for them,
• know where to look for clues to the directions of the general financial markets.

This is a LOT of information from one little book. I know it is. I just believe in delivering huge value to others, just as I much as I enjoy finding it for myself.

By using the process I describe in ‘The Interest Rate Solution’, you’ll know EXACTLY how to do what I did……where I personally saved over $40,000 in the past 9 years by using what I know for my own benefit. My savings are increasing every single month to move this figure higher and higher each year. This is ‘continuous’ benefit, not just a one-time benefit. You might even save a lot more than I did! For that, all you need is to have an even bigger mortgage than I have. Mine was originally $169,000.

It’s just not easy trying to figure this out alone, by watching CNN, or reading between the lines of Federal Reserve notes, or reading through hundreds or thousands of pages of the Wall Street Journal, or in trying to figure out what ‘other’ book or books to buy. You see, I’ve done all this for you. I wrote this little book because I found that knowing the right thing, THEN, determining the right time to apply that knowledge, are two different things.

I could have easily added another 100 pages to this book, just to cover some things that are of equal importance, in terms of saving or creating money. So, why didn’t I? Because I’ve given you enough information for your understanding in just one, very important area, home mortgages. Then, I point you in other directions outside of mortgages, and out of this book, to pursue at your leisure. You’ll find that, in a literal sense, the sky is the limit.

I include a valuable bonus in the middle of the book that could put thousands more in your wallet or purse in the years to come, as well as take the wool away from why things are the way they are about so many things that seem to confound so many people.

This one is a keeper.

'Some stories should never end. Good stories leave the reader thirsty for more. The best stories can give us legends that leave a permanent imprint on the literary world. Count Dracula is just such a legend; spawned countless film adaptations, inspired the 20th century horror genre and, ultimately, planted the vampire firmly in popular culture. Yet in a world of civilized, sparkling vampires, Stoker's story begs to be continued.

With Dracula Rekindled, Xander Buchan takes the reigns from Bram Stoker with a fresh sequel that remains faithful to the Gothic horror classic, Dracula. Crafted in an epistolary style, and sharing the same DNA as Dracula, Xander also succeeds in making the read distinctly contemporary. This clever, suspenseful story builds steadily to draw the reader into a place of much mystery, intrigue, and horror. The ORIGINAL VAMPIRE has been rekindled and Buchan has created a believable Dracula for the 21st century.

They jump at the opportunity to go, but even before Andee crosses the entrance, she realizes there's something peculiar about the carnival. Reverend Black hated storms. Rumbles from the Heavens promised violence and retribution this night, but he could only watch as the blackness descended. The tempest did not come alone. Alligators, snakes, and old boyfriends...Oh my. The swamp is a dangerous place, but it’s nothing Veronica can’t handle. That is until a weekend in the marshes brings to light a whole new set of dangers. Now that the supernatural cat is out of the bag, Veronica’s life will never be the same.

From Beltane Magic by Jacqueline Paige Review

Title: From Beltane Magic
Author: Jacqueline Paige
Genre: Fantasy
Pages: 223
Price: $6.99
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

A group of women make the trip to an annual gathering, but the trip proves to be more dangerous than they ever expected. Will the safe world that Leena always clung to be destroyed forever and what about Owen? Is this man she's falling for something more than an author? Could he be what she's needed all along?

I absolutely love books that deal with pagan and wiccan culture. By no means am I of either faith, but stories like these offer a nice escape from the world I know and love. From Beltane Magic was the perfect mix of fantasy, romance, and suspense. I highly recommend it to anyone that loves reading about witches.
