Edward of Planet Earth by Nicholas Eftimiades
$3.29
At last an uproarious scifi comedy that will have you laughing until your sides ache.
You’ve never had a hangover like this before! 200 years in the
future, Edward Temple, a “uniquely ordinary person” wakes up a human
pawn in a super computer’s cosmic plan to reveal a universal truth to
the world that will change the very nature of our existence. Join the
adventure in a world where self-aware super-computers are as
argumentative, egotistical, demanding, and emotionally needy as the
humans they serve.
Edward and his love interest Amanda are caught up in a zany cat and
mouse chase from Earth to the far side of the Moon. Not knowing who
they're running from, or even why they are being chased, Edward and
Amanda must navigate befuddled governments, psychotic software, greedy
corporations, overly attentive robots, and romance.
The science and technology that characterizes the environment in the
book is an extension of the today's most advanced research and
development efforts. and the quest to discover God challenges society's
philosophical and religious underpinnings, placing the characters in
outlandish, comedic situations. So buckle up, put your seat backs and
tray tables in their upright position. You've never experienced a world
quite like this!
Author Interview:
When did you begin writing? I began writing in the mid 1990's. I wrote
on national security and foreign policy issues with a focus on China.
In fact, that writing earned me the distinction of being labeled an
"enemy of the people" by the Chinese government. My creative writing
began three years ago.
What genres do you write? I still write
non fiction on global security and futures issues. I love writing
science fiction comedy.
What's your latest book about? My book
Edward of Planet Earth is an outlandish science fiction comedy that
takes place 200 years in the future, Edward Temple, a “uniquely ordinary
person” wakes up a human pawn in a super computer’s cosmic plan to
reveal a universal truth to the world that will change the very nature
of our existence. The book is a thought-provoking satire about life in
humanity's high tech future and the impact on social, political, and
religious institutions.
I'm particularly lucky that this book
got great reviews from Buzz Aldrin, Bill Nye "The Science Guy", Bill
Prady co-creator of The Big Bang Theory TV show, and many others.
Which authors inspire you? I would say Ray Bradbury and Douglas Adams
What's your favorite book? Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.
Why
did you choose independent publishing? I've published with established
publishers. They provide very little that I can not provide myself and
they take a lot for it. They also put a lot of responsibility on the
author for advertising their own work. Simply put, I find I can do just
about all the work myself and earn a lot more. Thanks to indie
publishing I have a book on Chinese Intelligence Operations that is 20
years old and still sells three to four copies a day.
What one
piece of advice would you offer other indie authors? Have people review
your work before publishing. Prepare and implement your marketing
campaign before you publish. Be prepared to work A LOT in marketing your
work afterwards. I have some Indie marketing lists and ideas on my blog
