Five World
building Wizard Romance Authors to Read in 2015 – in no particular
order because they’re all awesome!
Nalini Singh – author of the
psy/changling and Archangel series.
Nalini is a mistress at building worlds
I want to live in and creating characters I fall in love with every
time. She is also fantastic at creating insurmountable conflicts for
her characters that require immense sacrifice and growth to overcome.
Oh, and her love scenes are HOT!
Thea’s brand of witty humor makes me
laugh while her alpha heroes make me look for air-conditioning (in
Canada, in the winter!). She’s an expert in surprising her readers
with unexpected twists and turns, and steamy love scenes.
Patricia Briggs – author of the Mercy
Thompson and Alpha & Omega series.
Patricia writes a unique brand of
fantasy romance that has me under its spell. She combines the modern
world with werewolves, vampires and native magic in a realistic way
that makes me a believer. I can’t get enough of her damaged
characters who manage to save the day despite almost insurmountable
odds. Her dry wit and offbeat sense of humor keeps me glued to the
pages of her books.
Mercedes is generally considered a
fantasy author, but her books often have a romance subplot as well.
I’ve been reading her Valdemar series for years and can’t get
enough of a world populated by semi-mystical horses who are human
smart and have the last say in who is good and who is evil.
The first book in Gail’s Alexia
Tarabotti series, Soulless, was the most original story I’d read
with shifters and vampires in years. Oh, and I shouldn’t forget to
mention the parasols. Parasols are very important. Almost as
important as having a soul.
Julie Rowe’s first career as a
med lab tech in Canada took her to the North West Territories and
northern Alberta, where she still resides. She loves to include
medical details and a lot of adventure in her romance novels. Julie
writes contemporary and historical medical romance, and fun romantic
suspense. Her writing has also appeared in several magazines such as
Today’s Parent, Reader’s Digest (Canada), and Canadian Living.
