“Take care of my wife.”
That was the last thing my best friend Elijah asked me before the light left his eyes.
I
kept my word to my Delta Force brother and checked on Delilah Hunter
often over the years. When she remarried six months after my buddy died,
she infuriated everyone who was loyal to Elijah’s memory. But I knew
better than anyone how unbearable loneliness could be, so I didn’t judge
her. I stuck with her, she had been my friend, too.
Eventually, I
started to give her the space she needed to start her new life without
the constant reminder of her dead husband. Delilah Hunter-Bradshaw
seemed to be doing well. So, when she stumbled into Force’s New Orleans
office ten years later, battered and bruised, asking for me, I knew she
had fooled me and everyone else in her life. She was nowhere near well.
It
was time to keep my promise to my dead best friend. If he’s watching
from above, I hope he can forgive me for what I’m about to do.

Review for Asher Force Security Book 1
Great New Series!
"Asher
is a great new adventure into the lives of the men and women who have
protected our favorite Savannah Heat characters. I loved this opening
book with a character we have not met yet but Mark, Seth, and plenty of
other characters we know and love from other Savannah Heat books were
there. You do not have to have read any of Jessica's other books for
this book to make sense, but it will leave you with a whole lot of other
books to try!" Five-star review from Desrae.

Excerpt:
“Kirk?” I was half asleep. A glance at the clock told me it was three in the morning.
“Yeah, who’s this? This is an untraceable number. Who the hell is this?” I asked, fully awake now.
“I-it’s me, Kirk. Delilah. I didn’t know who else to call,” she said. Her voice was trembling, and all kinds of alarms went up.
“Delilah, honey. Are you okay? Where are you?” I’d always sent her my new number whenever I changed it. Thankfully, she had it right now because my gut told me she was in a lot of trouble. Dammit! It had been too long since I’d last talked to her.
“I heard you were in Savannah, and I need help. There was no one else I could trust,” she whispered.
“Where are you? I’m coming to get you,” I said.
“I’m driving. About an hour past Mobile, Alabama.”
“I’m in New Orleans now. Please. Let me come get you. If you’re in trouble, let me help you. You were right to call me,” I said. Shit! I grabbed a pair of pants and a tee shirt. Setting the phone on the dresser to get dressed.
“No! Let me come to you. Can you text me your address? I’m using a burner phone and am in a rental I rented with a fake ID and a reloadable credit card. If I have to back track, I need to find somewhere to sleep. I don’t think I can make it back to New Orleans without some sleep first,” she said.
“If you’re in that much trouble, let me come to you. Someone might know that we know each other and that you’d come to me,” I said. I was desperate to make sure she was safe. What would make a woman like her take such drastic measures?
“Okay, yeah, I’m not thinking straight. You’d be the first person he’d think of. Shit, you have to get out of there!”
“Easy, Lilah. Where are you? Will you be okay until I get to you?” I asked.
“I’m at least a day ahead
of them. Let me get a few hours’ sleep. You might not even be able to help me…”
Her voice wavered until she cleared her throat. I could tell she was trying to
hold it together. She had always been an amazingly strong woman. It took one to
be married to a Delta.
